dubya just got done briefing a few chosen reporters following his tour of new orleans. during his remarks, governor kathleen blanco twice pretended to itch her lip with a clipboard so she could subtly remind the president of the names of whom he should thank. he then proceeded to mention houston, texas, praised them for taking in all the displaced, then made a joke about how he used to enjoy himself "a little too much" there. just when i thought he couldn't possibly be any less sympathetic, he just walked away from the podium without introducing governor blanco, who clearly wanted to offer her thoughts.
